Peer Counseling Services
Our experienced peer counselors are available to listen to your concerns empathetically and confidentially. We will work with you to improve the quality of your life. We also make referrals to professional counselors as needed or upon request.

To arrange to meet with a peer counselor, leave a message on our confidential telephone line at (202) 580-8861 and let us know how we can get in touch with you. A counselor will call you back within 48 hours, but usually on the same day you call. NOTE: counselors return calls from their personal phones, which will be a different number than your initial call. We will use "GMCC" in any messages we leave. Counselors return voicemails every evening except Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Our counselors meet with clients in person. Sessions are structured to meet the client’s individual needs. Sessions are usually scheduled for once a week and last approximately an hour. All conversations between clients and counselors are kept in strictest confidence.
There is no fixed charge for our services. We do, however, ask for donations to defray our administrative expenses.
No one is turned away due to financial circumstances.
